After studying fashion design, spending time in Paris, and now covering fashion through an editorial lens, I have learned to look at a new season differently. I pay attention to the clothes, of course, but also to the references, textures, proportions and ideas behind them. Then comes the more important question: How does this translate into a wardrobe you actually want to live in?
For Fall 2026, the answer is refreshingly simple: refinement does not have to mean restraint.
Across the season’s collections, designers returned to tailoring, romantic details, rich texture and thoughtful layering—but with more personality than the minimalist wardrobes that have dominated recent years. Vogue’s Fall 2026 trend reporting pointed to everything from reimagined ladylike dressing and historical references to dramatic outerwear, texture and expressive styling.
The result is a season that feels less concerned with looking “on trend” and more interested in looking like yourself.
I
