Buying Back Your Time

More people are becoming comfortable delegating things they once assumed they simply had to handle themselves.

It isn’t necessarily about doing less. It’s about being more intentional about what deserves your time.

I often think of it this way: Does this need to be done by me, or does it simply need to be done?

That small distinction can change everything.

Waiting at home for a service provider needs to happen. It may not need to be you waiting.

The return needs to get to the store. You may not need to be the one driving it there.

Your home needs seasonal maintenance. You don’t necessarily need to coordinate every contractor yourself.

The party needs to be set up. But if you spend the entire afternoon arranging chairs, picking up ice and answering the door for vendors, you may miss the very celebration you planned.

Delegating those things doesn’t make your life less personal. In many cases, it gives you more time to be present for the parts that are.
