Who or what inspires you most when you sit down at your sewing machine?
I love designing and every day when I sit at my sewing machine I am still inspired by that dream that I had as a 17-year-old entrepreneur writing a business plan for a fashion brand with locations in New York, London and Paris.
If you could see anyone — celebrity or not — wear your designs, describe who would it be and why?
Today my goal as a Chicago designer is to get as many influential Chicago women as I can to wear SWABY. That would be an amazing break though for me and also a great way to show them that SWABY is the best way to shop with so many practical and sustainable benefits.
What do you hope your legacy will be, both as a designer and as a woman who’s charted her own path in fashion?
I hope as a designer I will be remembered for recognizing that everyone has a unique body and for creating clothing that complements as many body types as possible. And as a woman someone who never gave up on her dreams against all odds.
