When you first meet Lourdes Duarte, you are instantly drawn to her infectious smile. Not only is she tall and beautiful, but her demeanor is kind and welcoming. The WGN Evening News co-anchor ventured to Chicago many years ago after working as an anchor and reporter in smaller markets and has since established herself as one of the most liked and recognizable personalities in the city. As a wife and a mother of a beautiful 4-year-old daughter it’s crystal clear where her priorities lie and how she likes to spend her free time. Duarte is of Cuban descent and shares a harrowing story about her father’s journey to America that often helps her to navigate through challenging situations. During the pandemic she and her husband joined the Freedom Boat Club that allowed them to spend time together as a family, frequently boating on Lake Michigan and the Chicago River.
