Hypocrisy or Perfection

eptember is one
of my favorite
months of the
year. It might be because my birthday is in September. (Shout out to all the Libras!) It may also be because fashion week is in September. It might be because the temperatures drop to just the right combination of sunshine and fresh breeze. It may be the anticipation of boots and sweater
weather on the horizon. Or it may be the beautiful changing leaves. Much like January, I love that September symbolizes the end of one season but the renewal and rejuvenation of the season to come.
September is always a month of reflection for me to consider where fashion is going in the coming year and how much it has changed since last year’s fashion month. I have been working as a stylist in Chicago for over 15 years and although styles have changed immensely during that time, I truly believe that fashion has made a drastic shift in the last two years more than ever before. It is a combination of many things that has led to this fashion revolution; the political climate of the world, the impact eco-conscious designers and buyers have recently had on the industry, and the massive life change most of the world went through, now working from home and living a more separated lifestyle.
