For Holiday party season, I love to have a few sequin, heavy metal dress options. This metallic wonderland theme was omnipresent on many designer runways, showing there is never a time when you should be in doubt when something shiny off-season is on sale, yes buy it and keep it for future use.

The Target Anniversary capsule collection featuring their arsenal of hot label designers re-issuing popular pieces to date kicks off September 14th. For me, I probably had the most amazing Missoni sale on record in 2011. I actually scouted out the locations near my office that the new line would be featured in a day prior to the sale and also woke up at 2:00 am PST when the sale launched online. For me, there is no need to go because I did very well the first time around but for those who did not, it is a way to get some nice pieces to add to your wardrobe that fashionistas are still wearing today. Because when you choose smart pieces, you are buying off trend. I still rock my Missoni chevron mini skirt, long sleeve cardigan, scarves, socks, robe and so on today.

I know in my years of buying clothes and seeing how fashion trends come and go, I feel more mature with how I react each season to “must have” items. Know when you deserve a Designer addition versus a Zara or H&M version that keeps you on the pulse but not at a hefty expense. After all, if you did not notice already, the holiday season already started in mid-July with Amazon Prime Day and resurrects October 1st. Starbucks even pushed up the date of their Pumpkin Spice collection to debut on August 27 this year. With a well-versed wardrobe of options you personally curate over time, clothing that you not only look bomb in, but that also in the words of Marie Kondo “spark joy” for you when you see them in your closet(s), you are able to see what you can add to complement what you already have.
