You’ve since expanded to Lincoln Park and may be opening a third location soon — what lessons from your first launch shaped how you’re growing the brand now?
The biggest lesson has been: lead with heart, but build with systems. In the beginning, I did everything myself, which taught me every layer of the business. Now, I focus on building a team and culture that aligns with our values — authenticity, empowerment, transformation. That way, as we grow, the care and magic of Moon Rabbit stays intact.
You’ve survived breast cancer not once, but twice. What do you remember most vividly about those journeys — physically, emotionally, spiritually?
Each diagnosis was a jolt — physically traumatic, emotionally isolating, and spiritually clarifying. I remember the fatigue, the fear, and the overwhelming sense of uncertainty. But I also remember choosing hope, even when it felt like too much. Positivity didn’t come naturally every day — it was something I had to reach for. It’s become a bit of a cliché now, but it’s true: we can do hard things. Illness stripped away everything nonessential and left me with a clearer sense of purpose, love, and connection. It was the hardest thing I’ve faced — and also the most awakening.
