You grew up in the Boston area — what was life like for you as a young Gudrun?
Growing up in the Boston area was a blend of tradition and ambition. My parents instilled a deep respect for education and hard work, but I also had a creative, intuitive side that didn’t always fit neatly into conventional expectations. I was curious, deeply sensitive to people’s emotions, and drawn to anything that felt meaningful — even if I couldn’t quite explain it at the time.
Were there early signs that you’d one day be drawn to the healing arts?
Absolutely. As a child, I was fascinated by how people heal — not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. I would often take on the “listener” role among friends and family, instinctively holding space for others. I didn’t know then that this was a skill, or that it would one day become my life’s work.
