You launched Pyar & Co. more than a decade ago. Looking back, what’s been your most transformative “bold move” as a businesswoman?

Looking back, my boldest move was simply having the courage to begin. I launched Pyar+Co with high goals: to produce for the stores and retailers I admired, while creating opportunities for master craftsmen who might never have had access to such markets. I saw myself as the vehicle — bridging artisans with retailers — and committed to building the business from the ground up. I did my research, invested countless hours, and made sacrifices. That bold move, fueled by hard work and belief in the mission, led to recognition as America’s Best New Textile Company and partnerships with major retailers and high-end hotels. The impact confirmed that perseverance and purpose were my most transformative business choices. For me, it’s been about continuing to say yes — yes to beginning, yes to trying, yes to being bold even without all the answers. That willingness to start and to keep going has been the most transformative part of my journey.

For women stepping into entrepreneurship today, what advice would you share about building something both soulful and sustainable?

My advice is to begin, even if the path feels uncertain. Don’t wait for the perfect plan or all the answers — let curiosity guide you forward. Build with intention, not just for yourself, but for the people who will gather around what you create. When you lead with heart, you’ll find that soulfulness naturally takes root. And when you allow yourself to keep trying, to keep saying yes, you’ll discover that sustainability isn’t only about business — it’s about the strength that comes from staying true to who you are.
