all always reminds
me of
transformation. The
leaves change, the air sharpens, and there’s a sense that the year is shifting into its most decisive chapter. For me, Fall has always been the season of bold moves.
This year, October holds an even deeper meaning. My oldest son, Eros, just celebrated his 17th birthday on October 1st. He should be looking forward to his junior year soccer season, but instead, he’s preparing for ACL surgery. Watching him face this unexpected challenge, I see the boldness it takes to meet adversity head-on…the kind of courage that will shape his future as much as any game he plays.
At the same time, my younger son, Seraph, is out on the football field every week playing JV at the number one ranked school in Illinois and facing a new academic journey and challenge - High School. For me, I find myself becoming just as involved in the high school parent community as I am in my business circles. It’s a different kind of team, one built around carpool schedules, game-day cheers, and the collective hope that our kids will feel seen, supported, and celebrated. There’s beauty in that, too: the beauty of showing up fully for the moments that matter, even when life feels impossibly full.
