usic is becoming
widely accepted as
an alternative form
of healing. People are more open to the idea of sound healing through the use of tuning forks, sound baths (crystal bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, bells and gongs), and Solfeggio frequency music to clear energy and relax the mind and body.
The healing properties of music have been understood for centuries. Research studies have consistently found that certain types of music have a positive effect on pain relief, reducing stress, improving mood, boosting the immune system, improving motor skills, and increasing brain stimulation. Listening to music helps release endorphins, the hormones associated with pleasure and the healing process.
However, all music isn’t good for you. There are specific frequencies of music that have been evaluated and identified with healing properties. The Solfeggio frequencies were derived to teach melodies and harmonies to monastic choirs in the 11th century by an Italian Benedictine monk, Guido of Arezzo. The 6 Solfeggio frequencies said to have healing properties and characteristics include; 396 Hz releases fear; 417 Hz eases and initiates change; 528 Hz repairs DNA; 639 Hz heals relationships; 741 Hz inspires creative expression and solutions; and 852 Hz facilitates spiritual homecoming. I often encourage my clients to do a Google search of the specific sound healing frequency they want to experience as a supplement to our work together.
