Combining history and comedy together, the “Academy Award Losing” writer and director Taika Waititi brings us “Next Goal Wins,” the story of the American Samoa soccer team who was decimated during the 2001 FIFA match. Michael Fassbender stars as Thomas Rongen, the team’s coach as he attempts to help this group of lovable losers score just one goal. This feel-good film opens on November 17 in theaters.

“Poor Things” reunites director Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone (“The Favourite”) in this female-centric Frankenstein film. Stone stars as Bella Baxter brought back to life by the boundary-pushing scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe) and Mark Ruffalo portrays a salacious lawyer. The film, like all of Lanthimos’, promises laughter in the midst of jaw-dropping bizarreness. “Poor Things” opens in theaters December 8.

Emerald Fennell who gave us “Promising Young Woman” returns as writer and director of “Saltburn” starring Rosamund Pike, Carey Mulligan, and Barry Keoghan. A young Oxford student, Oliver (Keoghan) befriends Felix (Jacob Elordi), a wealthy aristocrat and the two share their summer together at Saltburn, Felix’s family estate. The disparity between the classes is apparent making it a summer Oliver will never forget.
