Grand National Rodeo and Horse and Stock show, San Francisco, California, USA. Throw on a pair of cowboy boots and a ten gallon hat, and you’re set for a weekend of rodeo, cowboys and some delicious food! (Also held the 23rd and 24th of October)

West Virginia, USA. One of the largest extreme sports events in the world. Watch people perform death defying tricks or perform death defying tricks yourself.

Oct. 22nd.

Jidi Matsuri, Kyoto Japan. Celebrate the founding of Kyoto with a large parade and festivities!

Oct. 27th

Lhai Heua Fai (Festival of the boat of lights). Vientiane,Laos. To pay homage to the Mekong river, to the dead, and to the Buddha, families create boxes made out of banana leaves filled with candles and incense.

Oct. 31st.

Halloween. International. Free candy and fun costumes for all ages.

Oct. 31st—Nov. 2nd

Día de Los Muertos. Mexico. Held throughout the world, but in Mexico it is considered a National Holiday. Festival to honor the commemorate the dead.

Nov 11th.

Diwali. Nationwide in India. (Though some regions celebrate at different times.) Believers of Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism celebrate some form of this festival of lights.
