Creating Community Through Food
BY LAURETTE RONDENET
uilding community around
the table is a core value of
mine. One we’ve adopted
at my company and with my family. As important as family dinner in the dining room has been to me as a mother; I am a mother of 5 boys (with 3 bonus children across the pond) who also runs one of the few independently owned flavor companies in the world. As you can imagine, time isn’t always kind. So eating out with my family often takes the place of eating in—but that doesn’t make it any less special. We find joy in trying different foods we’ve never had, taking samples from each other's plates and ordering so many appetizers which leads us to not being hungry for the main course (happens every time).
