THE GERMANS

LURSSEN

The biggest boats on display this year at the Monaco Yacht Show were from German shipyard Lurssen including Carinthian VII (92 meters or 318 feet, built 2002) and Phoenix II (90 meters or 295 feet built in 2010).

Phoenix 2 is equipped with a lap pool, 2 jacuzzies, gym, spa, hammam, beauty salon, wine cave, bourbon bar, screening room, ballroom, Steinway piano, duplex owner’s suite and 2 helipads. There is a stainless-steel Phoenix sculpture on the bow referencing the eagles on the Chrysler building in New York City. For those not wanting to spring forward with the entire $132 mil, chartering is another option. It will set you back about $1.22 million per week, excluding fuel, food, drinks, taxes, mooring, dock fees and tips. So, a weekly charter of Phoenix 2, all in, can run about $1.6 million.
