hef Taryn has been cooking since

she was a little girl growing up in

Chicago and learning from her dad

who she considered the best. On Fridays, they would go somewhere uber grown-up in downtown Chicago and then spend Saturday and Sunday shopping for ingredients and cooking at home. A father/daughter favorite was trying to re-create what they had been served at the restaurants they visited. Weekend mornings at dad’s house consisted of Jacques Pepin and Julia Child, not the usual cartoons or kids programs her friends watched. Taryn received her first wok in 3rd grade (it was red and electric) and tried to take over the role of chef in her mom's house.

Twenty years of professional cooking has provided Taryn an incomparable experience. From California, to Colorado, and up and down the East Coast to The Dominican Republic, South Africa, Hawaii, Morocco, Cyprus, and for a Russian oligarch on a super yacht, somewhere in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. As if cooking for Oprah Winfrey for a decade isn’t reward enough, she’s has the incredible honor to cook for her many high-profile guests including former President Barack Obama and

First Lady Michelle, Gayle King, Sarah

Ferguson -Duchess of York, a bevy of

Hollywood elite, including her

absolute idol, Dr. Maya Angelou. Taryn

has led cooking classes at the Oprah

Winfrey Academy for Girls in South

Africa and is grateful to have inspired

people to want to cook, be

imaginative and fearless in the

kitchen.

Chef Taryn has returned to her

Chicago roots to open The Kismet

Table, an Atelier. Described as a chef’s

workshop to dream, create and

experiment, Taryn offers guests an

exceptional experience through

delectable meals, intimate

celebrations and private dining.
