RA: FireFin Poke was launched in Chicago to great fanfare and lines, we are aggressively expanding in Chicago and East coast in 2017. Suriso Poke, Italy’s first Poke Shop, opened summer of 2016 in Salerno. We’re looking to expand to Milan in 2017. I’m also excited about Food Buddha Artiginale, my own line of cold pressed olive oil.

DC: You’re affectionately known as “The Food Buddha” and have been featured on many national television shows. What are your plans to continue sharing with the world who you are and what you do through entertainment?

RA: I’m working on a couple of culinary shows, sizzle reels and production projects. We’re looking at a 2017 completion. I’m also involved with a documentary showcasing culinary prodigies and those culinary stars that are just beginning to shine.

DC: Explain your thoughts or philosophy as it relates to changing the world through food.

RA: Food is a language, a common place, a necessity to live. Food heals, it can also harm, it comforts, it inspires, its alive, its personal. Understanding one’s culture and history through food helps build tolerance and ultimately a connection. Food has no place in being objectified nor judged.
