There’s a smorgasbord of food flicks, but with so many choices, how do you avoid the 'liver and brussel sprout casserole' of films? Let me take you on a documentary food journey that will sharpen your mind as well as your palate and just might make you want to plunge into your own kitchen to create culinary delights.

The first step is knowing where your food comes from. The Circle of Poison is just that film as we travel with the filmmakers around the world to learn about the import and export of chemical herbicides and pesticides and then the re-importation of these foods covered in banned chemicals. With intriguing interviews from high-level former politicians such as President Jimmy Carter and Senator Patrick Leahy, we find that our very own government puts the Almighty Dollar first. Shocking, right? Even Noam Chomsky and His Holiness the Dalai Lama chime in with their thoughts, hopes and suggestions in this enlightening film about the food we eat and the detrimental effects of trying to control Mother Nature through chemicals.
