Of course, everyone has heard about oysters. They top many lists of libido enhancing foods. It’s loaded with good mood hormone dopamine and high in zinc, which is said to raise sperm and testosterone production (a key hormone for sexual arousal (according to WebMD). Some say that famous lover Casanova ate 50 raw oysters every day. Others report that it’s really just the likeness to female genitalia that is the actual cause for male excitement. Sadly, I can’t get past the texture to test this one for myself.

It’s no surprise that decadently dark chocolate puts many a girl in the mood. Chocolate is seen by many as its own wonder drug. It’s rich in magnesium, producing a general feeling of well-being. And then there is the blood flow boosting theobromine, a stimulating alkaloid like caffeine. It also contains phenylethylamine and serotonin, two chemicals that light up pleasure areas in the brain. So, the saying that chocolate is similar to sex because it makes you feel good is true after all But the question remains, does chocolate get me in mood or can the right dark chocolate chunk replace my need for a sexy hunk?
