As a leader, what principles guide the way you make decisions—especially when building something as ambitious and experiential as BIÂN?
I tend to filter decisions through a few core questions: Is it effective? Is it meaningful? Does it elevate the baseline experience? And can it genuinely improve the quality of someone’s life or experience?
I’m deeply driven by excellence, and not in a perfectionistic sense, but in a thoughtful and intentional one that is never afraid of how hard it will be to get there. I care immensely about how people feel within a space, within an interaction, and within themselves after engaging with something we’ve created. To me, that is true excellence, and I will never take my eye off the ball there. I simply refuse to and that is something I am proud of.
I also believe leadership requires both vision and discernment. Not every trend deserves attention. Not every opportunity deserves expansion. Some of the most important leadership decisions are actually about restraint in protecting standards, maintaining integrity, and staying deeply aligned with the original mission, especially as growth and visibility increase.
