Share something people don’t see or understand about the pressures of being a public figure while raising a family.
People see the polished version but not the mental load. I’m often out at community events and fundraising galas—which are very fulfilling, but a drain on my social battery. There’s constant pressure to represent well on camera and in the community, and then still show up for my family when the cameras are off. It’s beautiful, but it can be heavy and draining.
How do you navigate life as a Black woman in an industry and society that often misunderstands or underestimates you?
With resilience and pride. I enter every room knowing I represent more than just myself. That means I speak up, show up prepared, and build community wherever I go. I’ve learned to stop shrinking to make others comfortable. My presence is my protest—and my power.
