Publisher's Note

When I was a kid at York elementary school in Ohio, I had two teachers that told my parents that I could do anything in life that I wanted to do. All I had to do was to “put my mind to it” and I could accomplish anything. Throughout my life I’ve always remembered what Mrs. Mc Cloud (my 1st grade teacher) and Mrs. Green (my 2nd grade teacher) said. Matter of fact, they followed me all the way through high school and came to watch my basketball game surprising me afterwards when I came out of the locker room. I’ll never forget the inspiration that both of those ladies provided at an early age, and it has lasted over time. Over the years I have been inspired by many different types of people depending on each phase of my life and today I draw inspiration from my kids, family, close friends, business associates, and anyone making a positive difference in this world.

Often times we don’t see ourselves as inspiring others, but just remember that someone is always watching you, even if though you may not be aware. One of my favorite inspirational quotes goes like this, “To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world”. If you’re reading this note, take some time this week to lend a hand, lend an ear, give a smile, or just say hello to a stranger, a kid, police officer, or delivery guy. You never know who is watching or who you may inspire that day. Enjoy our FLM May Inspirational issue.
