May is the month for honoring our Mothers. And this month we pay homage not only to our Moms for Mother’s Day, but to all the amazing women in our lives – our grandmothers, teachers, daughters, and friends – who have inspired us to work harder, grow smarter, and be the best version of ourselves. When you ask someone to name a woman that has inspired them, it’s natural to hear about famous women who have made selfless contributions that have changed the world we live in today - the women who refused to get off a bus, who demanded the right to vote, who spoke loudly for those that had no voice, who invented cures for the sick, who saved lives that had been condemned, and who sacrificed their lives for the greater good.

Yet just as important are the everyday women in our lives. The women that work hard from morning until night, day in and day out, caring for their families, volunteering in their communities, starting businesses, cleaning up after kids and pets, supporting their partners, and still finding time to be a great friend. I’m fortunate to have so many women in my life that constantly amaze me with all they accomplish in a day.

So this Mother’s Day I send special love to my fabulous friends who are moms, wives, business owners, school event volunteers, and so much more. You have brains, beauty, businesses and babies! And you make it look so easy from the outside. You’ve made multitasking an art. To all of you amazing women that have so much on your plate…I salute you. For the hours you put in without pay, for the efforts you make without a thank you, for the time you share when you have none, and for the difference you make in my life and so many others … Thank you.

For while your life looks perfect from the outside to so many, I know it’s not all rainbows and smiles. It’s often tireless, thankless, and sometimes even hopeless. Watching all you do and being a part of your lives has taught me the value of family, time management, how to say no, what loss feels like, when to just listen, to take advantage of the quiet moments, and most of all what it look likes to really show up for life especially when you don’t feel like it.

These are the kind of women that I admire – the kind that invite you over for weekly family dinners, or Christmas when you’re far from home, that offer to help you move before you even ask, or even host you on their 800 mile family road trip vacation where there’s just enough room for me in between the kids in the back seat (although you offered me shotgun). If you’re lucky enough to have women like these in your life… honor them …with a hug, a day off, or maybe even just a thank you. To all my girls, you know who you are … THANK YOU.

To All My Multitasking Mamas…
