Lucky for me, I come from a line of strong, determined women.
My grandmother, Caroline Lucas Adams, who at 88 years young, is a woman beyond talent. Everything I cherish stems from my grandmother, lovingly known as Gigi.
She is a true artist who spent countless hours sharing her passions, stories and time, to teach and inspire her family and friends, children, grandchildren, and now great grandchildren.
Always the hostess with the mostess, Gigi made every single occasion special. She added her personal touch and careful, thoughtful passion to all she touched.
I grew up at her side helping set the table for family celebrations, holidays, and birthdays, enjoying her countless amazing stories. Like one of great-great aunts on horse and buggy rides to choose wedding china in the big city, the backstory of each stem of crystal, each piece of silver…
This incredible gift was passed to my mother, whom I then followed around in my own home. She raised me to cherish these moments and memories just as they do.
Now, as a mother, I see my own children in this same light: watching, listening, right at my side as we gather together for holidays, for moments, always to celebrate each other and family tradition as one.
I feel so close to these incredible women every day as I run my business, A Perfect Event, planning celebrations for clients, and bringing this same level of inspired love to both every possible occasion for others, and my work. I know that every event I’m inspired to create has an element of all the inspiring and talented women in my family that passed on their love of making every celebration a perfectly memorable event.
