Publisher's Note

Being a creative I’m always intrigued to learn about what other creatives are working on whether it’s art, music, fashion, film, technology, or design. However, I’m as equally excited to learn about what folks outside of the creative industry are doing in finance, science, education, healthcare, and philanthropy. Over the years, through networking, I’ve met some incredible human beings that are accomplishing amazing things and I always ask a ton of questions truly seeking to understand who they are and how they got started. One consistent factor that almost everyone has in common that are passionate about their work is that they purposely chose their profession, and nothing really happened by accident.

Frequently I’m asked… How did you become a publisher of a magazine? How were you able to produce and host a TV show? How did you get into the food & lifestyle industry? Well, the simple answer is that I created it. To be honest, I never knew where any of those things would take me, but I had a vision and slowly started my journey, and over time the vision defined itself. I’m always inspired and admire people that have an idea and then act on it. Most of the time, especially as an entrepreneur, things will not work out and you will fail. However, failure doesn’t mean that you stop pursuing your dream, but you have to figure out a different path to achieving your goals. Creating your own destiny is powerful and once you realize that you have the ability to accomplish whatever you set your mind to then there will be no stopping you. We’re all artist in our own way, because everyday we are designing our own lives. But at the end of the day make sure your masterpiece is what you want it to be and not what others think it should be. When you look up and don’t like what you see, then know that you always have the power and opportunity to adjust your design. Happy March and Enjoy our FLM “Art” issue.
