I’ve been thinking about this concept of being unapologetically you more and more in 2022, especially when it comes to style and what makes you feel your absolute best. As the awards season kicked off this with the SAG Awards and the Grammys and Oscars close behind, I posted my favorite and least favorite looks from the red carpet to my social media outlets, as I’ve done for years. With interactive options available my followers vote on the looks they love and hate. It is always a big hit and gets a lot of fun activity but the idea that we are voting on, appearance, has been hitting me differently the last few years. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love seeing all of the different styles worn on the different red carpets and having opinions on fashion is what makes it so special. Red carpets are such a great way to scope out upcoming trends for the year and to see what works (and doesn’t work) on different body types, but is voting on looks ok?
I don’t do the polls to make fun of the looks I’m not drawn to but more to see what the rest of the population is feeling at the moment. I think all fashion is beautiful and you should wear what makes you happy and what makes you feel like the most confident version of yourself. What I love about the results is that everyone’s opinions are always so different which is what is so beautiful about fashion and art and life!
