appy Spring! The big
thaw is upon us as
temperatures are
warming up and folks are starting to get out and about more. Covid mask mandates are being lifted, which means more traveling, eating out, and getting back to doing the things that we loved to do prior to pandemonium. Because it feels like we’ve been on lockdown for so long people are itching to have some fun. I’m excited for my family’s upcoming spring break trip because it’s been a while since I’ve sunk my toes in the ocean’s sand and sat poolside sipping on tequila and margaritas. I’m long overdue for some R&R, and a vacation down south is exactly what I need right now.
We are witnessing the entertainment industry make a strong comeback. Movie theaters are filling up, Broadway shows are back on, and venues such as Five Iron Golf, featured in this month’s FLM issue, are becoming more popular because of its appeal not only to golfers, but also to those searching for new and different experiences. Music is stronger than ever. My kids keep me updated with new tunes that I’ve never heard of, and thanks to Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, young artists are popping up everywhere and having a lot of success. Although I still prefer my old school playlists, I recognize new and aspiring talent. Make sure to check out our feature on five female artists to support this month. It’s an impressive lineup.
Finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t recognize what’s happening in Ukraine right now. It pains me to watch the bombing of cities and the killings of innocent people, especially children. Here at FLM, we pray that leaders from around the world will help find a solution to end this war. We all have bad days, but I can’t imagine having a day where I would have to flee my home country just to survive. Let’s not forget the people of Ukraine as we’re enjoying our freedoms and try to do our part to help the Ukrainian community.
