t is officially March, which means Jordan Peele’s highly anticipated film Us premieres on the 22nd. It is only his second film, but for me he has already cemented himself as an influential and nearly flawless filmmaker with fresh and powerful ideas and themes. His first and only film, Get Out, is one of my absolute favorite films and I discover a new element that I love every time I
watch it. Because of his artistry, Peele has already collected an Academy Award for best screenplay in 2018 and spotlighted an incredible performance by Daniel Kalyuua, thrusting him into stardom and acclaim.
Although he has only made one film, it has deeply impacted many people and has changed the way many people, including myself, view horror and the lessons we can learn from it. It is undeniable that he is a director with a unique vision and his ideas are so original and inspired that they create a sense of excitement that can often be missing due to the oversaturation of average movies.
