Dorothy Draper is not only famous for her exuberant style, but also for creating the defining style movement known as American Baroque. Draper's interior design style was the absolute opposite of minimalism, which was a common style at the time. Draper created dramatic interiors. Like Wolfe, she pushed the design envelope of theme by incorporating only bright vivid colors and large prints. She started her career focusing heavily on residential design but broke out into the new realm of hospitality and commercial designs. Her portfolio was comprised of bold and vivid interiors featured in homes, hotels, department stores, restaurants, and theaters. Draper redefined the concept that beautiful interiors are not only appreciated inside of the home, but that they are appreciated regardless of the institution.
