arch is a month-long celebration of women. Every woman has a story to tell, so let’s celebrate, encourage and highlight women. In honor of their work and accomplishments we celebrate some of the most influential women in beauty; the risk takers, trend setters and game changers. Here are some of some fun facts about these fabulous ladies.

Coco Chanel- Chanel was one of the first fashion brands to expand into the fragrance category with one of the most iconic perfumes Chanel No5 and now has blossomed into the cosmetic industry.

Estee Lauder- Officially founded her company in 1945 after creating creams and lotions in the family kitchen with her uncle who was a chemist. She was the creator of bath oils and perfume in 1953. The rest is history.

Elizabeth Arden- A Canadian business woman and the creator of a cosmetic empire, who's list of innovations is long. She was initially known for a lipstick called Montezuma Red created to match the uniforms of women enlisted in the armed forces.

Eunice Johnson- Creator of Ebony Fashion Fair Magazine. She has showcased ready to wear fashion for a mostly African American audience and influenced brands like Revlon, Avon and Max Factor to expand their shades to women of color. She inspired other brands to jump on board.

Bobbi Brown- A global beauty brand that empowers women to embrace their individual beauty. In the 90's Bobbi Brown released a line of 10 lipsticks and has grown into a beauty empire. From eyeshadow palettes to an entire skin care line.

Laura Mercier- From canvas painter to a creator of the naturally flawless complexion. After her career as a painter, she became a celebrity makeup artist by creating her amazing cosmetics and repeatedly being highlighted in magazines and winning the “Best Of” awards. Some of my personal favorites like secret camouflage and translucent setting powder are a staple in my makeup case.

Women are fierce. They are powerful. No matter what language they speak, how they dress or the work they choose to do. What matters is that they have a choice, and the freedom to carve out a life for themselves. As long as we know women, who are strong and resilient, we must respect them and carry them forward, lift them up. - LANG LEAV
