Amy DuBois Barnett

o say that Amy Dubois Barnett is a successful business woman would be an understatement. The Brown University graduate has been a media executive and held leadership roles at some of the largest media companies in the world including, ESPN, Ebony, Harper's Bazaar, Teen People, and Essence. She is an award-winning content and branding expert and is currently consulting for media and technology companies on cross-platform content strategy and execution, brand development, diverse audience targeting, branded content initiatives, social media planning and creative direction.

Barnett got her first big gig as Editor-in-Chief of Honey magazine (targeting urban millennial women) where she oversaw a major redesign of the magazine that doubled its rate base and generated national buzz for the previously unknown brand. From there her career trajectory went through the roof. She became Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Harper’s Bazaar, Editor of Teen People, and Editor-in-Chief of Ebony. At Ebony, Barnett executed the publication’s first top-to-bottom redesign in its 68-year history to critical acclaim. She was named the 2012 Media Executive of the Year by Target Market News. In 2013, she was included on the Folio 100, a list that honors the most innovative and influential professionals in the media industry.

Amy is also developing television projects focusing on female-driven stories, and has a development deal with World of Wonder Productions for a proprietary unscripted show. In addition, Barnett is the author of an empowering advice book for women, Get Yours! How To Have Everything You Ever Dreamed Of And More.
