I'm thrilled to be writing my inaugural Editor's Note from India, a mysterious land of contradictions, where chaos and serenity weave an intricate web. I've only just arrived so you'll have to wait to hear and see more. For our India readers give us a shout out on our Facebook page. In the meantime, I invite you to enjoy March's Style Issue. Style isn't just what people are wearing or which celebrity wore it best. This issue digs deeper by looking at how fashion has influenced film, and even into challenges we face with fashion. After all, it's not always easy to find a hip formal when you're over 40 and full figured, or to look classicly put together while on the road with just a carry on. You will get a glimpse of funky festival fashion, where sometimes it's what you don't wear that makes the statement. We'll also share this spring's must-have items to add to your own shopping list. I bet you didn't know that a wine expert can tell what you like to drink based on your outfit? You'll get the key on where you fall into wine fashion. While your clothes might be on point, if you're face is flat, the look fails. Our makeup expert shares her secrets for a flawless face with products by style icon Mark Jacobs. And we've even got a little style advice for the puppy in your life.
This month's main event honors of our founder's love of all things sports. We've taken your March Madness NCAA basketball tournament bracket and given it a makeover. Gone are the college teams to make room for the most stylish and fashionable male athletes making waves on and off the field/court/ice/ring.... you get the picture. I like to call them STYLETHLETES. How do your bracket picks stand up to our champion?
I leave you to immerse yourself in style as I relax to the resonant sounds of the Call to Prayer in the background. As I sit down to an authentic Northern Indian style dinner with the gracious and warm Hindu family that is hosting me during my time in Delhi, I can't help but take in the exotic yet homey décor ... fashion and style from afar.
