PHP OFFERS EXERCISE SOLUTIONS

When you walk through the doors at Precision Human Performance don’t expect a cookie cutter approach to achieving your goals. Their belief is that your progress can only be as good as your diagnostics for any treatment or strength and conditioning plan for the human body. Their expertise in discovering and understanding exactly what a person’s body needs helps them to create a customized exercise plan for clients. Clients are initially put through a thorough evaluation to diagnose their human mechanics problems. That evaluation looks at the muscular system and how it communicates and works together with the nervous and skeletal systems. Once the evaluation is complete the results not only provide a better idea of what’s going on with the body, but also what the person will be able to tolerate when it comes to exercise. PHP thinks of exercise as medicine and there is a certain dose that each person requires. It’s not a measure of how much exercise a person can tolerate, but how much a person needs. They offer exercise solutions.

Johnny Cooke is co-founder of PHP and has three degrees ranging from Occupational Therapy to a Masters in Exercise Science. He is a specialist in Muscle Activation Techniques and Resistance Training. His partner Michelle Amore has a similar academic background and works closely with Cybex, an equipment company, in conducting research and case studies on resistance training. Those case studies help PHP constantly improve their approach to working with their clients.

PHP’s main focus is on human mechanics, which is not in competition with either rehabilitation or personal training. “We don’t see those things as mutually exclusive, but as a continuum of human function, “explained Cooke. “We see performance being defined by each individual, whether you’re an NFL lineman wanting to improve on the field or an eighty four year old woman that wants to bend over in her garden.” Both Cooke and Amore utilize the tools in their tool bag, such as muscle activation techniques and resistance training, to move clients along their performance continuum. Simply put, they help people improve their performance.
