tens of thousands of people every day. Himmel and his family thought it was important to do justice to the space’s heritage and showcase Chicago and its history, which is why they opened up the ceilings and exposed the brick within the restaurant. The first floor is where the brewery is located, but the main dining room is on the second floor and is decorated with pictures of Chicago and street art, keeping true to the original Gino’s concept where people can write on the walls. The third floor boasts a private event space Monday thru Wednesday, but it becomes the Comedy Bar Thursday thru Sunday. The Comedy Bar used to operate just a few blocks away from Gino’s Brewing Company, but now comedians will be telling jokes in their new intimate space. When people think of Gino’s East, they think of deep dish pizza, but the family owned company brought in the brewery to give people an exceptional experience. Himmel says, “We just want people to have the time of their lives. We want it to be memorable and everything that they can ever dream of. They’re coming in to have a slice of a deep dish Chicago style pizza and there’s nothing better than to pair it with a nice cold beer.”

Gino’s Brewing Company invites you to come sample all four styles of beer as they offer beer flight specials during the March Madness NCAA basketball tournament games. They are showing all the tournament games so you can pick your favorite beer while you watch your NCAA bracket picks win (and lose). Himmel and his family are very excited to be a part of the booming River North neighborhood dining scene and they look forward to sharing their innovative pizza and brews on your next visit.
