The truth is that life doesn’t happen to us; life is created by us. This new paradigm teaches us that life is a creation and we are co-creators. We co-create with the Most High. What we now know is that we can decide and choose to change. We have the power and control to change what we believe, how we think, how we feel, and what behaviors we choose. Having the free will to choose emboldens us to dream big, reach higher, and be intentional about who we want to become and how we want to experience ourselves.
So what does the power to choose mean?
Your identity and who you are is not fixed. It isn’t genetic or predetermined. It’s something you shape—daily, moment by moment, decision by decision. Whether you want to be a leader, a caregiver, a creative, or a change-maker, it starts with the conscious choice to align your actions with the person you envision. You are not bound by your past. You’re shaped by your present choices.
Beliefs aren’t inherited—they're accepted. Many of the beliefs we hold about the world, success, love, and ourselves come from the voices of others. But here’s the empowering truth: you get to examine those beliefs, question them, and replace them if they no longer serve you. Choosing your beliefs means building a mindset that reflects your truth, not someone else’s.
We often think emotions happen to us and are uncontrollable. The truth is how we respond to situations, how long we stay in anger, how quickly we seek forgiveness, and how open we are to joy is largely a choice. This doesn’t mean suppressing emotions, but recognizing that we are not slaves to our emotions. With awareness and practice, we can choose to live in emotional states that support our well-being and growth.
