ummer is here. Inflation has been
felt by all especially with travel this
time of year and the rise in costs for
everything we want and need. For my family we plan to explore California. But I love adulting and planning trips with good friends to unwind. 2020 marked a year of new ways to socialize online. In 2021 most started to venture out with trepidation still not sure of what was to come. For summer 2022, my personal objective is time to celebrate with friends in a beautiful setting that is easy on the wallet, high on taste without guilt.
A testament to good times for me is a get together that is well-planned and stocked with surprises. Location, Location! Lucky for us one of my friends via another Mommy friend discovered a public access beach along the prime Colony region in Malibu with free parking for days and just a few steps before you touch the sand. My“Sunday In The Bu”event will be a treat for my crew of #huzziesthatdohappyhour with an easy traveling menu, a signature cocktail and recreation whether that be watching the waves, taking selfies or a private yoga lesson facing the pacific.
I am thankful for an extra-large Igloo cooler on wheels that can transport food, ice and storage for several bottles of champs, chilled wine and some Origen Vodka. Conscious of what we eat and dispose of, I bring plastic bags saved from the store to minimize our clean up. For the menu, I decided to make mini ciabatta sandwiches: Sliced Persian cucumber, feta, olive oil and crushed red pepper for the meatless crew.
