Let’s get going! We’ve been bottled up for over two years and folks are ready to hit the road. Restaurants, festivals, and concerts are sold out. Hotels are over booked. Airline prices are through the roof, and let’s not even get started about gas prices. People are chomping at the bit to travel or to just get out of the house and not have to worry about getting sick. I think our travel issue is right on time with providing you tips on where to go and how to spend your hard-earned money.
Some of my fondest memories growing up happened around summertime. We never traveled outside the country or even outside the state that much, but we always had fun taking short local trips to amusement parks, beaches, and to our annual family reunion somewhere close by. Road trips were a little different back then. There were no cell phones, electronics, streaming radio, or CD players. My sister and I rode in the backseat of the car and made-up games to play to keep us busy. I was always curious about how folks lived in other towns and cities and now as an adult, I’ve learned how important it is to experience other cultures. If you’re planning a trip this summer, try to expand your horizons and do something a little different and out of your comfort zone. We think that we always have time to check off things from our bucket list, but as I heard someone recently say, “We always have more time until we don’t”. That resonated with me and I hope our FLM June Travel issue resonates with you. Enjoy.
