BURDEN: Based on the life of Mike Burden, writer/director Andrew Heckler recreates the story of a leader of the KKK and his family who open a museum to celebrate the Klan in a small South Carolina town in 1996. It’s a transformative study of the power of love versus hate starring Garrett Hedlund, Tom Wilkinson, and Forest Whitaker. The film delves into the mind of Burden as he begins to think for himself and find humanity through the compassion of others. Heckler stated, “When push comes to shove, and you choose a family of love, it’s a lot more challenging, but obviously a lot more rewarding.” (Available June 23, 2020)
