actions it incites are even

uglier. Our world has recently

punctuated the heartbreaking results of that one simple yet incredibly powerful word with the death of George Floyd. Floyd is just one of many Black men and women who have died at the hands of racism. Many of us wonder how one life could be viewed as less than another’s just because of the shade or color of one’s skin. Empathy is an equally powerful word, but one that incites acts of kindness and compassion. It allows us to understand another person’s point of view or position. And while we may never be able to truly walk in someone else’s shoes, thanks to the world of film, we can try.

The topics of racism, inequality, and injustice have been addressed in a myriad number of movies and so I challenge you to watch any or all of the following and NOT be moved or changed by them.
