here are some things

that simply seem

meant to be, and

TEDxWrigleyville’s 2020 program is one of them.

Under normal circumstances, our TEDx team would design a day of multidisciplinary talks, delivered live from a stage to a vibrant audience. This, however, is the age of Covid 19.

So, we pivoted to a virtual event. And, given the monumental impact

of the coronavirus on

society at large, our TEDxWrigleyville team centered its 2020 program around “Humanity: A View From Inside the Pandemic.”

When the Chicago Cubs donated its historic stadium, Wrigley Field, for our event production, we knew we had something extraordinary in the making! Soon after that, we confirmed a talk on whether and when it’s okay to laugh by Katie Rich, SNL’s own Weekend Update writer and a donated performance by international cello sensation, Yo-Yo Ma.

Our all-star line-up of local leaders would teach our community how to navigate in darkness, lead amidst disaster, reimagine economic systems, save our democracy, build health care campaigns, manage our trauma, and present better on our Zoom calls! These remarkable leaders inspire the possibilities for gender equity, racial justice, community activation, entrepreneurship, human connection, and food redistribution systems. They will help to meditate, and to influence.
