The phrase “have a safe trip" is said all the time to people before they travel. It is intended to remind people to take care of themselves and be mindful, but in retrospect, it is actually a bit irresponsible to merely tell someone to "travel safe" when there are so many things that are actually out of our control. That is, of course, only if we don't plan things out first. We should instead say, "have a prepared trip!" Sounds a bit boring to tell someone before they leave for an exciting trip? Yes, and that is probably why we don't say it. But just like in life, a failure to plan is a plan to fail … and that also goes for traveling!
