Fete Lifestyle Magazine July 2026 - Summer Ease & Joy | Page 79

We often think luxury is reserved for large estates, but many of our readers live in condos, apartments, and traditional family homes. What ideas from luxury living can anyone incorporate to create a more beautiful and welcoming home?

Some of the best design lessons have nothing to do with square footage.

Invest in great lighting. Buy fewer, better pieces of furniture. Display artwork that makes you happy. Use beautiful linens every day instead of saving them for guests. Add fresh flowers. Declutter. Incorporate natural textures like wood, stone, and woven materials.

Most importantly, create spaces that invite conversation. Luxury is often found in how a home makes you feel, not how much it costs.

Summer often inspires us to slow down and reconnect. If you were designing the ultimate "Summer Ease & Joy" home, what five features would be at the top of your wish list?

For me, it would include a large outdoor kitchen with a dining table where family and friends naturally gather, a pool with beautiful landscaping that feels like a private resort, a rooftop or terrace with comfortable seating for sunset cocktails, walls of glass that completely open to create seamless indoor outdoor living, and a home filled with natural light, fresh flowers, artwork, and spaces designed for conversation.

Summer is about making memories, and great homes make that feel effortless.
