surprised me most about

moving from Los Angeles to

Chicago, my answer is always the same; summer.

I expected beautiful architecture. I expected incredible restaurants. I expected a city with history. What I didn’t expect was how completely the city transforms the moment the weather changes.

After months of winter, Chicago doesn’t simply experience summer—it celebrates it.

There is an energy that feels contagious. Cafés spill onto sidewalks, music drifts through neighborhoods, families gather in parks, and every patio seems filled with people lingering just a little longer. It reminds you that luxury isn’t always found inside five-star hotels or behind exclusive doors. Sometimes it’s found in slowing down long enough to enjoy where you already are.

As someone who has built a career telling visual stories, I’ve become fascinated by the little moments that make a place unforgettable.
