ometimes when you
meet someone, you
can immediately tell
that they’re just good people. How they carry themselves, interact with others, and engage in conversation speaks volumes about their character and integrity. That’s Curtis Granderson. Plain and simple, he’s just good people. My 12-year-old son, an aspiring baseball player himself, confirmed my belief after hanging out with the former Major League All-Star during our 3-hour photo shoot at Curtis Granderson Stadium at University of Illinois Chicago. His exact words were, “You can tell that he’s a good person”. It’s an understatement to assume that Curtis made my son's day.
Curtis Granderson hails from Chicago. He honed his baseball skills at the University of Illinois Chicago before embarking on a remarkable 16-year career in the MLB. Despite facing moments of doubt about continuing his baseball journey, Granderson swiftly ascended from the minors to the majors, showcasing his resilience and dedication. Beyond his athletic prowess, Curtis is celebrated for his generosity, particularly in combating food insecurity for kids and families within the Chicago community and helping young folks learn and play baseball. His radiant personality and charisma, deeply rooted in his upbringing, are complemented by his clean and chic style, making him a beloved figure both on and off the field. Granderson is a breath of fresh air, as he continues to knock it out of the park by giving back in a selfless way. This is Curtis Granderson.
