at a high level in their sport. A lot of athletes know at an early age that they want to become a college and professional athlete. Some may not even think it's a possibility until they achieve success later in their career. Many athletes start out with a bang and then fizzle out after realizing that it’s not all what it’s cracked up to be, or they might simply lose the desire and passion to move forward. Kofi Hughes expereinced the latter. After playing college football at Indiana University, the standout wide receiver had an opportunity to play in the NFL. One might think that having an opportunity to play at the highest level in sports would motivate any athlete, but Kofi knew deep in his heart that the NFL wasn’t for him. He knew physically, his body was ready, but mentally, his mind was on something else. Specifically, drugs. Kofi became addicted to pain killers and could care less about anything else other than satisfying his addiction, which led him to walk away from the game for good. However, it was those challenges and other life-altering realities that he faced which led him to his faith and he ultimately persevered and discovered who he really was. And that discovery was that he was more than an athlete. Today Kofi is a husband, artist, and personal trainer to athletes, celebrities, executives. He's spiritual and is giving back to many young kids around Chicago. I had the pleasure of getting to know him and learning more about his harrowing story. I walked away feeling more inspired, and excited to add a few of his health practices to my daily routine, and I think you may feel inspiread too. So it's my pleasure to introduce you to Kofi Hughes.
