Both of my sons like wearing socks with their flip flops. They think it’s cool, but I think it looks ridiculous, especially during the summertime. My oldest is now in to wearing his last name on his hat ever since he recently walked into an athletic store and discovered that they sold gear with the name CRENSHAW on it, basically paying homage to Nipsey Hussle and the Crenshaw neighborhood in South Los Angeles. My youngest loves listening to ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) at night to help him relax, which I don’t quite understand, but nonetheless it works for him. And I’m into… well… learning from them what’s new and popular on YouTube or TikTok. It’s amazing to see what becomes popular amongst the masses and it’s even more amazing to see how fast trends come and go. Just. Like. That.

I can tell you what lifestyle trends I would like to see happen. Let’s start with folks being kinder and more thoughtful to each other. Then we can move on to people having more empathy and awareness for those issues that affect others but not necessarily them personally. And it would be nice to see people celebrate our true heroes much, much more such as the police, firefighters, teachers, and healthcare workers versus celebrities that may or may not have an actual talent. But, whatever. The bottom line is that we have the ability to start and stop trends, so why not do something that will benefit the world?

Our July issue highlights new and exciting things in fashion, beauty, food, drink, and sports. We have some great tips and advice to enhance your lifestyle that I hope resonates with you. Enjoy these trends and you might also want to think about starting your own any day now.
