Quick tips to get your meditation practice started:

Make it number one: It helps to do your meditation practice first thing in the morning (maybe even before you check your phone!) Once the day gets started it’s too easy to keep pushing it off. Plus starting your day with even a few focused breathes helps ground and center you for the rest of your day.

Feel it: Your breath is a great way to collect and focus your body and mind. If you are having trouble feeling your breath, place both hands on your belly and feel the rise and fall as you inhale and exhale.

Dedicate a space: It helps to meditate in the same place as a way to solidify the habit and feeling of calm. This doesn’t mean you need to create a whole meditation room in your house, unless you want to of course, but dedicating a chair or a corner of your bedroom as the place that you always meditate is one less distraction and removes one more barrier to starting a regular practice.
