Remember when your supervisor told you in no uncertain terms, that no, you could not work from home? It just wasn't possible; it simply wasn't done. Fast forward to life amidst Covid-19, where companies across the globe that had previously insisted their industry could not, would not, be feasible for remote life had to admit that not only is working from home possible, it became downright essential. Some employees, companies and markets pivoted easily, while in many areas it was obvious that they and we were not prepared for change.
Our July issue is about lifestyle trends. We are witnessing change in fashion, wellness, beauty, relationships, and also social justice as we adapt to what might be a "new norm" of living. We are being forced to consider inequality in ways we've seemed to resist, and we are admitting that basic human connection is a necessity for survival. We are seeing evidence of beauty and grace in the face of ugliness and cruelty. We are hearing new voices emerge, new technologies take hold and new ways of living and working in uncertain times.
