Technology can be controversial. Children become “zombies” in front of the television or iPads with parents scrutinizing one another over “screen time.” Social media has become risky business for teenagers who insist on documenting their every move, and have yet to be accepted into college or get a job - their digital footprint has certainly become a part of the vetting process. This obsession with technology has begun to carry over into adulthood, drawing criticism ranging from the fact that technology has ruined people’s ability to verbally communicate, all the way to being responsible for a highly deteriorated version of interpersonal relationships.
