Fete Lifestyle Magazine January 2025 - Fresh Perspectives Issue | Page 85

What do you hope readers will take away from the book?

Who they are is not only enough but special, unique and worth something to others. And if they follow what feels right to them, they will find their purpose—or it will find them—and they’ll fulfill it.

What advice would you give to someone struggling to embrace their authentic self?

Find one thing you like or admire yourself and focus on that until you start to see all the things that make up who you are. You will eventually be able to see yourself in a balanced perspective that isn’t heavy with judgment—you’ll celebrate the amazing things, acknowledge the shortcomings and embrace the changes that feel right to you.

Your fashion sense is impeccable. Describe your specific style, colors, or pieces that make you feel most connected to who you are.

Thank you! I’d say I love clean lines, classic design and fit with a little drama. Black is my go-to color (they tell me that’s a Capricorn thing lol) but I also love bright punches of color, especially red and orange. And interesting textures draw me in—whether that’s the sheen or finish of the fabric, faux fur, or statement jewelry. Like my Barbara Bates red wool coat with the Mongolian lamb collar… I’ve been rocking that one for years and I can’t imagine ever putting it on and not feeling like Jeanne in it.
